ELYSEES LA DEFENSE RESTRUCTURING

Elysées La Defense building is emblematic in La Défense business district with 2 large glazed atria, located on the roof of Les 4 Temps shopping center designed by the Saubot-Julien Architects in 1982. The purpose of the restructuration supervised by SRA Architects in association with KPF is to dynamize the facades with a special emphasizing effect by creating a protruding façade at the level of both atriums animated by a system of pleated curtain wall. The whole project is in compliance with the current existing volumes, volumes will be added only at terrace level overlooking the Parvis de La Défense at the North and an extension of the entrance at the west, next to the Dôme.

The facades of Defense Elysées are reworked and accented by two large faults. They bring a rhythm to the facade and emphasize the exterior views. Behind these faults, two monumental atriums are living spaces for employees. Stairs and open gateways allow free movement in the building enjoying dayliht and views. New auditorium facilities, restaurant, cafeteria, fitness … complete the improvement of working spaces thanks to the optimization of the ceiling height especially.
