The objective of the renovation of the Elysées la Défense building carried out by the Saubot & Jullien in 1982, is to provide a dynamic treatment of the facades with a particular emphasis on the protruding projections at both atriums by a set of pleated facades. The whole project is in accordance with the existing volume, with only additional volumes to be added to the terrace overlooking the square to the north and an extension of the western entrance on the Dome side. The facades of Elysées Défense have been reworked and accentuated by two major flaws. These bring a rhythm to the facade and favour views to the exterior. Behind these flaws, two monumental atriums provide living spaces for collaborators. Open stairs and walkways allow unrestricted circulation in the building, enjoying daylight and views.
